wikipedia mean the end of the encyclopedias?

i think that wikipedia doesn't mean the end of the encyclopedias, but no doubt that wikipedia is becoming more important in our world now.

As we know that the encyclopedias, needed somebody to edit, to organize and needed time to publish since there are so many information. As a pack of encyclopedias is very expensive, once people bought one set, they will not want to buy another at a short time, however, nowadays, the information and technologies are changing so fast, many information may not easy to group and collect in a set of books. Besides, due to the limitation of the encyclopedias (human resources/ money/ the size of the books), the encyclopedias may not update as fast as the online wikipedias. Also since the wikipedia allow everyone edit the post, so as more information can be add to the post.

However, it is not to deny the importance of the encyclopedias, as the encyclopedias are much more accurate than the wikipedia. Since the encyclopedias are edit by the worldwide professionals, so the information provided is much more accurate and guarantee, compare to wikipedia, wikipedia is much lack of accuracy. So I think that while we want to check something which need high accuracy (such as chemical/ scientific/ language knowledge, etc.) and not popular, we should check the encyclopedias. If we want something which is more update and interesting and , than we should find wikipedia.

By the way, i think that the user should know how how to define and using the sources while using wikipedia, since everyone can edit it, we can't aviod the wrong information is found. We can find more source to compare and find the information which is closest to the real.

Can't deny that wikipedia's position is keep increasing, but i sure it can't replace the encyclopedias, the user should also keep a clear mind to choose when to use encyclopedias, when to use wikipedia.
