Charlie Chaplin's "Modern times"- evaluating the effects of new technologies

I think new technologies such as the industrial machinery, feeding machine and closed circuit cameras shown in the film both have some common benefits, such as time saving, making people's living convenient, and also quite user friendly.

In the "Modern Time", it is obviously the machines are bringing those advantages to the boss, he can earning the money through those devices, however, those technologies are not benefiting the workers. We can see that Chaplin are working in a very tense mood while the time is saving by using the industrial machinery. Besides, while they are promoting the feeding machines, at first it is running smoothly, that really convenient and very user friendly, however once the machine is losing control, it start to bring trouble to people, that really very stupid and even the technician can't fix it, it will spoil people's life.

Nowadays, i think computers and technologies really have a great effect to our life, most of us can not live without computers, computers bring entertainments to our lives, companies using computer to work, helping us earn money, the communication network nearly is built by the computers and technologies. Computers and technologies are really amazing and essential. However, i do also think that we show pay more attentions in the disadvantages they brought. Such as the "modern times" shown, while the technologies become uncontrollable, finally it harms human lives or at last becoming stupid/ Or sometimes the technologies just benefiting particular groups of people.
